General ISRP Guidelines

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants from Canadian academic and clinical care institutions are eligible for project awards.

Intellectual Property Guidelines

In accordance with ISRP Intellectual Property Policy, applications to the ISRP project stream will follow these general principals:

  1. If there is background IP at the time of application, the CPDC will not seek ownership in relation to IP arising as a result of funding but will require implementation of oversight mechanisms, including a co-management framework, to ensure that IP is effectively managed.
  2. If there is no background intellectual property (IP) at the time of application, the CPDC – prior to project commencement and within the context of an IP agreement – may seek some ownership position or a licensing arrangement. This agreement would cover any IP arising as a result of CPDC funding. Implementing oversight mechanisms, including a co-management framework, will ensure that IP is effectively managed.

Review Procedure

ISRP applications are reviewed by an independent panel of experts. The reviews evaluate the scientific progress of the project to date and the potential clinical and commercial impact of the proposed probe.
