General Guidelines

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants from Canadian not-for-profit research institutions with expertise in molecular probe development are eligible for project awards.

Intellectual Property Guidelines

In accordance with the Centre’s proposed IP policy, applications to the ISR project stream will follow these general principals:

  1. If there is no background intellectual property (IP) at the time of application, the CPDC – prior to project commencement and within the context of an IP agreement – may seek some ownership position or a licensing arrangement. This agreement would cover any IP arising as a result of CPDC funding. Implementing oversight mechanisms, including a co-management framework, will ensure that IP is effectively managed.
  2. If there is background IP at the time of application, the CPDC will not seek ownership in relation to IP arising as a result of funding but will require implementation of oversight mechanisms, including a co-management framework, to ensure that IP is effectively managed.

Conflict of Interest and Appeals Mechanism

Members of the Centre or Board of Directors may want to submit projects. Those members involved with a project will be excluded from all reviews of that particular submission. An appeals mechanism to address issues raised during the project evaluation process will be restricted to the selection process and excludes recommendations of the Clinical Trials and Commercialization Project Selection Advisory Committee. In the event of an appeal, an ad hoc committee will review the issue and submit a report to the Board Chair for consideration.
